2000.5 RSV Mille

Say hello to Salome, my 2000.5 Aprilia RSV Mille

Mille 1 Front quarter view, in the garage
Mille 2 Frontal view with the three headlights; one low beam and two (projector) high beams. Take that Paul!
Mille 3 Side view, in better light. Mmmm +black+
Mille 4 Cockpit view, showing the LCD dash. Use the flash-to-pass button to trigger the lap timer.
This is the first biek that I've seen that devotes 7 pages of the owner's manual to the buttons on the dash ...
Mille 5 Front wheel, highlighting the spiffy Brembo brakes
Mille 6 The swingarm. Notice the funky tunnel the chain passes through.
Mille 7 View down into the fairing ahead of the forks. Notice the pretty red steering damper.
Mille 8 I never thought I'd say it, but the taillights are growing on me ...
Mille 9 The muffler is HUGE
Mille 10 Another view from the side.

I've removed the plastic so I can clean and wax the fairings in the warmth and comfort of my living room. Yes, this is sad, but ...
Here are some photographs of the bike after removing the skins.

In the summer of 2000 I replaced the stock Mille exhaust can with an Akrapovik exhaust.
At the same time, Marc Salvisberg, of Factory, made me a custom fuel map PROM.
Here are some photos and commentary:

These are two other photographs snarfed from sources unknown, but probably online bike tests:
Static
Cranked over in a turn

This photo was taken during the first race of the 2001 WSC season:
Troy Corser (bike #3) passes teammate Regis Laconi (bike #55) for the lead.

I'm not sure where this photo was taken, but it's a nice shot of Corser on the 2001 racebike apexing a corner.

There are various articles and reviews of the RSV Mille on various sites on the 'Net.
